UX / UI

Project planning is a critical step for every digital experience. My deep understanding of user experience can make a product go from the expert engineering to a ready to use product by any user.

Understanding of current trends, and capabilities can set a product a part from the competition as well as create a feeling of high tech and smooth usability for the customer.

One project that I was able to improve was a digital platform created with a touchscreen device for processing decommissioned hard drives. This system was called IRONCLAD. We were able to create this product in-house from manufacturing its parts, engineers configuring its integrations, developers writing the code and then my department created the screen department. I would work with the developer in order to make sure the tasks and information were in a well organized journey for the user. I also made sure that the navigation was easy to follow and we developed methods for custom work flows.

After creating the architecture, navigation and choosing screen elements, we would work together to fine tune the layouts and then launch after testing. After the program was built, I would then create the user and admin manuals organizing the information in to a well organized system to be used for different configurations of the decommissioning processes.

This particular product was unique because it needed to function completely free of connection to the web or any networks for utmost secure environments. The system had to have many different functions and export capabilities. These systems are for use in office or data center environments where there may be dim lighting. This system was developed and evolved over 6 years that I was with this company. We were able to add functionalities and upgrade the design as we got more feedback from clients as well as keeping up with current trends for user experience.

As there were new functionalities requested, these new interactions needed to be mapped out and integrated into the system my task would be to create a seamless integration or find a way that would create better usability. There were also tasks for creating print outs and data bases. The response from the end users was that they were impressed with how thorough the system was for the task at hand and it is easy to use regardless if someone read the manual. The strong design of this system helped to further enforce the brand of the company and highlight its product development.
